Why a strong immune system is twice as important now
Styria’s answer to the superfood hype with ten times more vitamin C than lemons
The cold season brings colds and the flu wave, which presents our health with several challenges during the current Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore the body should be strengthened preventively—even if you feel healthy. The Sandicca Immuno Plus product is now available in Austrian pharmacies, supporting the immune system with its high vitamin C and vitamin D3 content from natural ingredients. “For the elixir in liquid form, we use Austria’s first organic sea buckthorn, which we cultivate at an altitude of 860 meters in the Joglland mountain region of Styria,” explains Tanja Kroisleitner, who founded the family start-up with her husband Gabriel Kroisleitner in 2017.
In addition to complying with the hygiene measures necessitated by coronavirus, which are also effective in curbing the spread of flu viruses, it is particularly important to strengthen the immune system during the cold season. To prepare the body for winter, Sandicca has developed the Immuno Plus product as an all-round immune system supplement that sustainably and effectively activates the body’s defenses through its high vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin E, and zinc content. The Styrian family business Sandicca cultivates Austria’s first organic sea buckthorn in its own sea buckthorn gardens, producing a natural superfood that contains ten times more vitamin C than lemons. In addition to its high natural sea buckthorn content of 54 percent, the elixir also contains purely plant-based phyto extracts and vitamin D3 derived entirely from plants.
Don’t wait until winter: Strengthen your immune system in autumn
“The body can produce vitamin D3 itself, but it needs sufficient sunlight to do so,” explains Tanja Kroisleitner, founder of Sandicca. “That is why it is particularly important in autumn and winter to ensure an adequate supply of vitamin D3. A study from Germany has also identified a link between vitamin D deficiencies and severe Covid-19 cases.” Vitamin D3, vitamin C, and zinc contribute, among other things, to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin E, like vitamin C and zinc, protects cells from free radicals and oxidative stress, which can accelerate skin aging. “Autumn is the ideal time to strengthen the immune system. To minimize health risks, taking preventive measures in good time makes more sense than waiting until winter,” says Tanja Kroisleitner.
Sea buckthorn – Natural superfood from Styria
The innovative start-up from Styria proves that healthy superfood does not have to travel long distances to be available in Austria. Sandicca not only grows Austria’s first organic sea buckthorn, but also produces Austria’s first fresh food supplement alongside organic natural cosmetics. Sandicca uses a cold-stirring process it developed and patented itself to process the sea buckthorn. “Our products stand out because they are produced regionally, sustainably, and above all, freshly,” explains Gabriel Kroisleitner, co-founder of Sandicca. “Only in this way can we guarantee the high bioavailability of our products.”

About Sandicca
The family start-up Sandicca has been cultivating Austria’s first organic sea buckthorn in Styria’s Joglland mountain region since 2014. In its own SANDICCA sea buckthorn gardens at an altitude of around 860 meters, the founding duo Tanja and Gabriel Kroisleitner create and develop innovative products in harmony with nature. Their goal is to offer immune-strengthening products from the region that accompany customers through different circumstances and stages of life, while placing the superfood sea buckthorn at the center. The young company follows an ecological approach—from regional and organic sea buckthorn cultivation, through gentle preservation processes without thermal heating, to biodegradable and compostable shipping materials and CO2-neutral shipping.
