Vitamin E protects your cells from oxidative stress1
Phytotherapy uses the power of nature for health – a natural alternative to artificially produced medicines and remedies. And not only in times of COVID-19.
For centuries, people in all cultures have known and used the valuable power of medicinal plants to maintain and restore health. The term “phyto” comes from Greek and translated means “plant.” Phytotherapy is therefore based on herbal medicine and serves to prevent and treat complaints or disorders of well-being. Plants, parts of plants and their processing in the form of extracts or elixirs form the basis for phytotherapy.
Our immune system is weakened by external influences such as stress and UV radiation, as well as by poor and unbalanced nutrition. In addition, many people are now tending, due to “Corontäne” – as a result of a lack of routines and changes to their daily lives – to reach for alcohol and cigarettes more frequently. Added to this is the fact that in spring we are constantly exposed to temperature fluctuations, which leave us feeling weak under the heading of “spring fatigue.”
Taking SANDICCA Bio Sea Buckthorn Fruit Pulp Oil LIVA can counteract this. It is an abundant source of fat-soluble vitamins A and E and is obtained in its native (natural) form, 100% from cold-pressed sea buckthorn fruit pulp, the sea buckthorn juice. Thanks to the gentle production process, it is particularly aromatic and fruity.

Vitamin E is a collective term for fat-soluble substances with antioxidant and non-antioxidant effects. As a natural antioxidant, vitamin E protects polyunsaturated fatty acids against lipid peroxidation in cell membranes. The tocopherols and tocotrienols are of practical importance here. Vitamin E is a component of all membranes of animal cells, but is only produced by photosynthetically active organisms such as plants and cyanobacteria.
In addition to vitamin E, sea buckthorn fruit pulp oil also contains plenty of beta-carotene as a precursor to provitamin A, which is particularly important for pregnant women. Both retinoic acid and its salt, retinate, are important growth factors for nerve cells during embryonic development.
Vitamin A also enables normal cell growth in the skin as well as in the walls of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestines) and the respiratory tract (organs involved in breathing). Vitamin A can also prevent DNA damage in skin cells or contribute to their repair and normalizes skin functions. Vitamin A also has a special effect on our immune system. Since vitamin A keeps the skin and mucous membranes healthy and intact, resistance to infections caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites increases. In addition, vitamin A can increase the production of leukocytes. Even a mild deficiency increases the risk of developing serious illnesses, such as pneumonia.
